Noted blogger Beth Kanter describes the new Hatch tool for storytelling perfectly well, so I’ll let her speak:

The Rockefeller Foundation recognized that a big opportunity exists between the intersection of story and technology, and  launched a research project to consider the role that digital technology can play in elevating the practice of storytelling as a means to improve the well-being of the poor and vulnerable around the world.

Based on the research,  they have launched a platform that helps connect practitioners with tools and resources to tell better stories of impact.

Jay Geneske of the Rockefeller Foundation describes the resulting free platform, Hatch, this way:

Hatch is a concierge that connects you to a suite of tools and a growing community of storytellers to help you leverage your stories to drive social impact.

Each of Hatch’s five sections are designed to help you craft, curate and share impactful stories. As you build your storytelling profile, Hatch will suggest tools, case studies and resources customized to your needs. These recommendations will always be saved to your profile so you can access them later.

Here’s a suggestion: enlist a fellow storyteller at your organization, whether that’s in their official job description or not, and work through the five sections on Hatch: strategy, capacity, content, platform, evaluation.
